Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan Discuss Trade and Transit Links
Deputy Prime Minister N. Nomtoibayar met Kyrgyz Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov in Bishkek on August 31 during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. The talks covered trade, transport, logistics and the work of the bilateral intergovernmental commission. Mongolia said two-way trade turnover had increased 3.7 times over three years and called for new markets, more diversified exports and more efficient transit corridors. The reported growth comes from a relatively limited commercial base; no absolute trade value, new route commitment or signed supply contract was announced in the government notice.
