Officials from Mongolia and Russia announced a 2026–2030 medium-term action program for interregional cooperation at the first Forum of Regions, held in Irkutsk on December 1–2. MONTSAME said the document covers 72 projects and activities across 11 sectors and areas.
Discussions focused on reducing the bilateral trade imbalance, addressing border and customs obstacles, expanding investment flows, and improving infrastructure, transport and logistics coordination. The forum also included panels on trade, industrial cooperation and tourism, along with business meetings involving more than 250 public- and private-sector representatives. The adopted program provides an agenda for future work; the report does not establish that all projects are financed or under implementation.
