Six Hundred Volunteers Complete Training for UNCCD COP17
Six hundred volunteers completed preparation for the UN Convention to Combat Desertification's COP17, scheduled in Ulaanbaatar from August 17 to 28. The training was jointly organized by the United Nations Volunteers program, Mongolian Red Cross Society, UN Development Programme and the COP17 National Committee's working group. Volunteers received briefings on their locations, duties, responsibilities and conference logistics. They will be deployed across four principal areas: the public Green Zone, the accredited Blue Zone, official hotels and transportation. Organizers said the training and assignment process had been completed ahead of the conference opening.

A group of 600 volunteers has completed training for UNCCD COP17, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar from August 17 to 28. The preparation was organized jointly by the United Nations Volunteers program, the Mongolian Red Cross Society, UNDP and the working group of Mongolia's COP17 National Committee.
Participants were introduced to their work locations and received guidance on their posts, responsibilities and conference logistics. They will support four principal operational areas: the Green Zone for public engagement, the accredited Blue Zone, official hotels and transport services. Organizers reported that the volunteer training and assignment preparations were complete before the start of the two-week international conference.
