Prime Minister N. Uchral met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk during the Eastern Economic Forum. They reviewed transport, trade, economic cooperation and fuel supply, with particular attention to the interim Mongolia–Eurasian Economic Union trade agreement that entered into force in July 2026.

Both sides supported preparing a practical roadmap and removing obstacles that prevent firms from using the preferences. The meeting did not publish the roadmap itself. The commercial effect will depend on customs implementation, product standards, border capacity, logistics costs and whether Mongolian exporters can meet buyer requirements at scale.
