Deputy Prime Minister N. Nomtoibayar met Kyrgyz Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov in Bishkek on August 31, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. They discussed trade, transport, logistics and the bilateral intergovernmental commission.

The Mongolian government said bilateral trade turnover had risen 3.7 times in three years. The parties expressed interest in finding new markets, diversifying export products and improving the efficiency of transit corridors. Because the notice did not provide the absolute value of trade or a new contract, the growth multiple should be read as a directional indicator rather than proof of large-scale commercial integration.
