Mongolia and Russia Discuss Fuel, Rail and Energy Projects
Prime Minister N. Uchral met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Vladivostok on September 2. The two sides discussed fuel and power security, the Mongolia–Russia–China railway corridor and implementation of Mongolia's interim trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union. The Mongolian government said they supported accelerating work related to the CHP-3 modernization, a joint study of the Asgat deposit, a proposed Russia–China gas pipeline through Mongolia and fuel supply. These are projects at different stages; the meeting signaled political support but did not publish complete financing, commercial terms or binding construction schedules.

Prime Minister N. Uchral met Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 2 during a visit to Vladivostok. The talks covered fuel and electricity security, trade and the railway corridor linking Mongolia with Russia and China. They also reviewed the interim Mongolia–Eurasian Economic Union trade agreement that took effect in July.
According to the Mongolian government, the sides agreed to accelerate work concerning CHP-3, a joint study of the Asgat mineral deposit, the proposed gas pipeline from Russia to China through Mongolia and stable fuel supply. Because these initiatives are at different technical and commercial stages, political endorsement should not be read as confirmation that all projects are financed or ready for construction.
