Ulaanbaatar Dialogue 2026 Draws 300 Participants from 40 Countries

Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Institute for Strategic Studies held the 11th Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security on June 4–5. The institute reported participation by more than 300 people from about 40 countries and over 10 international organizations. Sessions covered regional security, preventive diplomacy, mediation, artificial-intelligence risks, links between Central and Northeast Asia, and a proposed green power corridor. Officials from South Korea, China, Poland and Switzerland were among the participants. The conference produced policy discussion rather than a binding intergovernmental agreement.

The 11th Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security convened on June 4–5, organized jointly by Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute for Strategic Studies. The institute said more than 300 government representatives, scholars and researchers from around 40 countries and over 10 international organizations attended.

The agenda addressed security challenges, preventive diplomacy, mediation and the effects of emerging technologies—especially artificial intelligence—on national and social resilience. Participants also examined connectivity between Central and Northeast Asia and opportunities for a green power corridor in cooperation with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. The Dialogue is a Track 1.5 forum intended to support exchange and confidence-building; its discussions are not legally binding agreements.
