Prime Minister N. Uchral and Buryatia Head Alexey Tsydenov met at the Eastern Economic Forum to discuss adding practical economic content to relations between Mongolia and the Russian republic. Transport links and the Sukhbaatar–Naushki and Altanbulag–Kyakhta border crossings were central to the talks.

The Mongolian side pointed to tariff preferences covering 367 product lines under the Mongolia–Eurasian Economic Union interim trade agreement. It also raised coal supplies from Baganuur and Sharyn Gol. Buryatia expressed interest in meat and cashmere imports and in cooperation through the School 21 technology-training initiative. The meeting identified opportunities; no new contract volume was disclosed.
