The Government of Mongolia and Global Green Growth Institute signed an agreement strengthening their cooperation framework. Environment Minister Sandag-Ochir Tsend and GGGI acting Asia regional director Jason Lee signed the document.

The agreement covers institutional capacity for climate finance and green investment, legal support for climate policy and expanded technical cooperation. Mongolia joined GGGI in 2013 and has hosted a country office since 2014. MONTSAME reports that the relationship has helped mobilize more than USD 375 million in grants and investment and supported energy, finance, urban-development and natural-resource work. The agreement provides a framework; it does not itself allocate a new USD 375 million package.
