Bagakhangai–Khushig Valley–Emeelt Railway Targeted for September Opening
Mongolia's Cabinet ordered faster work and unified management for the 214.9-kilometer Bagakhangai–Khushig Valley–Emeelt railway, which is targeted to become operational in September. Authorities are to accelerate land clearance, relocation of affected structures, and protection or movement of power infrastructure. The 87.8-kilometer first section has completed its bridge and culvert works, while track superstructure installation was reported at 86.6 percent. Earthworks on the Khushig Valley–Emeelt section were 48.2 percent complete. Ninety-five domestic companies and more than 4,000 engineers and technical workers are participating in the project.

The Cabinet instructed the transport ministry to accelerate the 214.9-kilometer Bagakhangai–Khushig Valley–Emeelt railway and improve coordination under unified project management. The line is targeted to enter service in September. Land clearance, relocation of structures, and work involving power lines and substations are to be expedited.
The route branches from Bagakhangai Station, crosses Khushig Valley and Altanbulag soum in Tuv aimag, and connects to Emeelt Station. Bridge and culvert work on the 87.8-kilometer Bagakhangai–Khushig Valley section was reported complete, with railway superstructure installation at 86.6 percent. Earthworks on the second section were at 48.2 percent. The project involves 95 domestic companies and more than 4,000 engineering and technical personnel.
