Ulaanbaatar to Transfer 20 Percent of Municipal Enterprises’ Net Profit to City Budget
Ulaanbaatar’s Citizens’ Representatives Khural backed a proposal requiring 18 municipally owned business entities to transfer 20 percent of their 2025 net profit to the city budget. The enterprises reported combined net profit of MNT 18.3 billion. Representatives also called for closer scrutiny of profitability, debt, management and accountability, including incentives for well-performing organizations and reviews of entities operating at a loss. The measure was considered during the Khural’s eighth regular meeting alongside winter preparation and other municipal policy questions. Implementation will follow city budgeting procedures.
