The National Statistics Office's weekly price survey found that the average cost of selected consumer goods in Ulaanbaatar was down 1.6 percent from the previous week and 3.5 percent from a month earlier as of August 17.

Domestic potatoes fell 10.6 percent to an average MNT 2,500 per kilogram. The reported average price of bone-in mutton declined to MNT 26,152 per kilogram, boneless beef to MNT 36,611, and bone-in beef fell 1.7 percent to MNT 31,680. Conditions in the aimags were not uniform: flour, sugar, rice, diesel and AI-92 gasoline increased in some locations, while meat and milk prices generally moved lower.
