Prime Minister Nyam-Osor Uchral visited the oil refinery construction site in Altanshiree soum, Dornogovi, on August 10. He directed officials to keep construction moving without interruption, secure the project’s crude-oil supply and work toward bringing the refinery into operation by 2028. The government reported that overall construction had exceeded 60 percent.

Work includes storage tanks with combined capacity of 276,430 cubic meters as well as 263 kilometers of above-ground and 26 kilometers of underground pipelines. Key distillation equipment manufactured in India has arrived for installation. The 527-kilometer crude pipeline linking the Matad oil field in Dornod with the refinery was reported at more than 90 percent completion.
