The Mongolia Green Finance Corporation was officially launched on August 20 during COP17. It is structured as a public-private institution intended to mobilize long-term finance for green investment through banks and non-bank financial institutions.

Participants include the Green Climate Fund, XacBank, the Credit Guarantee Fund, Development Bank of Mongolia and GGGI. Target areas include insulation and clean heating in ger districts, affordable green housing, business energy efficiency, low-carbon technology and inclusive products for women entrepreneurs and vulnerable households. Prime Minister Uchral Nyam-Osor presented the corporation as a bridge from climate goals to viable projects. The launch establishes an institution; future additional capital, portfolio quality and measured emissions or resilience outcomes will determine performance.
